Encourage your student to make decisions in school choices and major choices.
Work on a budget together to identify what money needs to be found in scholarships or financial aid. We have a great article to help with all the pieces of college finances here.
Sign up for Imagine Scholarships. Scholarships are available throughout high school and all throughout college. This is a small investment with a huge return.
Make sure you have all needed legal documents for your college bound student.

If your student is male and 18, they must register for the selective service.
Most school require a meningitis shot before starting college.
Apply for the parent scholarship. Who couldn’t use an extra $500.00 ?
Consider getting a new email address for your student. Start sending helpful emails to that address now. Example: How to do laundry, what to cook, ideas for study tips and habits…. When your student graduates, give them the email address and password. They will have words of wisdom waiting for them from you!
Finally, ENJOY the last few months / weeks / days with them still at home. Squeeze every drop out this thing we call childhood and then watch them fly.
